This is the first release of new music I've put together in over seven years. What have I been doing in all that time? Well, I was writing songs. I went to the Iowa Writer's Workshop and got an MFA in fiction. I wrote a novel. I wrote a collection of short stories. I learned how to record. I recorded a lot. I recorded this record about four times, most recently with a group of guys I met in my adopted home of Iowa City (and they're fantastic, yes?), joined by my wife Theresa. The basic tracks were recorded in six hours on a day in early June. It was a good day. The rest was labored over in sweat pants, in my basement.
I hope this finds all of you as well as can be expected. Thanks for being here.
